Starhawk, along with other members of the group Code Pink, held a ritual to “cleanse the Whitehouse” on Bush’s last day in office. Video of the event can be found here: Witches Sweep Clean for Obama.
Of course, much is being made of this on conservative blogs. At www.freerepublic.com, the article on the event was accompanied by keywords such as “religiousleft”, “antichristian”, and “dementedwomen”.
Www.vnnforum.com added the commentary:
We knew it would happen: Full bore weirdness! The Messiah ushers in
pagan superstition along with his Czars, totalitarianism and an
incredible uptick in demonic fury—to be vented mindlessly upon all available
scapegoats…
Welcome to the Utopia of Weird.
They added:
Besides invoking witchcraft against the United States, Code Pink also works with state sponsors of terrorism and the terrorists in Iraq to undermine America in the war on terror. And Code Pink works with President Obama.
There is definitely some rage and desperation out there. If anyone needs more adrenaline than their coffee can provide this morning, www.vnnforum.com has contains some high-grade racism, sexism, and some seriously irrational frothing-at-the-mouth.

Well, considering that it’s the forum for the National Vanguard, a splinter group of the National Alliance that boasts Lamb and Lynx AKA Prussian Blue AKA the White Power Olsen Twins as adherents, none of this should be terribly surprising.
Also, they have a forum called “Jews: The White Family’s Worst Enemy”

No, not really that suprising. …but…but…”Jews: The White Family’s Worst Enemy”? So that means that, I, in and of myself, am somehow detrimental to the traditional concept of the white nuclear family just by existing. Always nice to hear that one has previously unsuspected superpowers.

“I, in and of myself, am somehow detrimental to the traditional concept of the white nuclear family just by existing.”
Well, I for one consider that a GOOD thing 😉

Join the club, bub. I’ve been working on this for years.

Bill, you can also burn pure flesh by touching it, don’t know if you’ve dealt with that yet, but be careful in public.

Maan, this club is larger than I thought! And all this time I felt so alone;>)
I’ve been thinking that if we ever organized a “sweep” of Chicago and Springfield Illinois, we could always use Blago’s hair to do it. Oprah for senator?!! Da man has lost his mind…

Hey, I’m down for the Springfield sweep, I actually already do that once a week or so.

it’s soo great to be a pagan, and even better, now that paganism is emerging on the national political scene! 😉 to the witches who swept the white house, thank you for being so brave. i’m sure there were lots of noxious cobwebs on those ceilings.
did anyone else notice that during the inaugural ceremony the poem made a nod to “our kind.”
she spoke of the credos that people of varied faiths live by, and she mentioned “HARM NONE!!” that’s us , folks!!!
