Welcome the guest bloggers

Well, I’m out of here in the morning. I’ll probably still be blogging at Klintron’s Brain.

The technoccult.net migration is in process, I have no idea what sort of odd behavior it may cause. I’m sure problems will arise, and I will try to fix them as they come up. The dot-com URL should continue to be reliable.

And most importantly, I’d like to welcome Michael and Wes to the mic.

Peace,
Klintron

cleverness is never as entertaining as blatant stupidity, failure and public humiliation

I think I’m going to take that bit of advice from Banksy and run with it.

Many thanks go to Klint for the honor of watching Technoccult while he’s away.

Please welcome our new guest blogger, Sauceruney

Philip’s done a great job, but it’s time for a new voice. In a few minutes, I’m leaving for Burning Man and Sauceruney will take over. Ya’ll be nice to him.

Hey Folks!

First, I’m honored that Klint has asked me to fill in for awhile. As some of you may know, I run two sites of my own, one is called Three River Tech Review, where I do sort of the same tech stuff that Klint does here. And I also run a site called Majic 12 where I write about comics and science-fiction. So, and I hope this sounds modest, I’m not a totally unreasonable choice to be guestblogging for a while.

I tend to be consumed by science fiction and science fact. The only thing that I’m not all that into is religion or the occult in any fashion. Even though my favorite writer right now, Alan Moore, is definitely into that hoodoo voodoo man. I can’t say his beliefs in the mystical take away from his art. But when in Rome…I’ll try to raid Jason Lubyk’s site for some of that crazy magic mojo.

Let’s hope we all learn something.

PS: There might be some overlap! As you might imagine, I link to the same kinds of things that Klint does…

Please welcome our new guest editor, Philip Shropshire

Philip Shropshire of Three River Tech Review, Majic 12, and Better Humans is joining us as guest editor for a couple weeks while I look for housing and work in Seattle. I can’t wait to see what he posts!

Man behind the curtain

I don’t usually post much about myself here, but since I haven’t maintained a personal blog in over a year, I figured I’d give it a shot. I just graduated college. Which is nice. What will it mean for Technoccult readers? Nothing right now. But since I don’t have a job or financial aid anymore, things could change in the near future. I’m on vacation in Wyoming right now and will try to blog as much as I can, but my parent’s internet acess is pretty unreliable. When I get back to Washington I’m not sure what I’ll be doing or how much time I’ll have. If anyone can hook me up with a job involving writing, editing, content managment, marketing, PR, or creative thought of some kind, let me know.

My friend Becca has posted some amusing pics from my graduation party.

I’m still planning on going to Burning Man. If you’re going to be there and a have need for help with a project, drop me a line.

I’m still guest editing STARE.

Update

The blog’s been silent for a while because I’ve been extremely busy and have been waiting to resume posting until I got the new design implemented. But I’ve been having hell getting it in place – technical difficulties with CSS, then with Movable Type, etc. Now my home computer’s having problems so I’m not sure when I’ll get to it. I’ll add a few links over the next couple days, until I get the time and energy to set everything right.

I’m off to the Phoenix Festival

Tomorrow I’m off to the Phoenix Festival, a large Burning Man-esque festival in the Northwest. If I can find ‘net access, I’ll be blogging live from the event. I may also post some more stuff tonight or in the morning. Otherwise, I’ll resume posting next week and hopefully get the redesign launched.

Phoenix Festival

Update: My coverage of the event is here.

Technoccult Moving

We’re moving from Grey Matter to Movable Type, and re-launching with a new design. At the same time, I’m moving across town to a new apartment. So the site won’t be updated while everything is being transitioned. Keep an eye on great sites like Boing Boing and New World Disorder in the meantime.

Back online at last

We’re back up and now running with Grey Matter. It’s a nifty little program that should speed up the process of things around here. Look for a new site design to follow.

Update: Since this post was published, we’ve migrated to Movable Type and then to WordPress. I remember Grey Matter, created by Noah Grey fondly. It inspired WordPress.
